This Kaneki isn't actually "evil" IMO. He is just moving towards his own goals, which everyone else is doing. Before he only did shit for the sake of others but now he is all for himself. It's not evil, its actually quite HUMAN. The only difference I truly see between him and other characters is that he just doesn't care about how others feel anymore. I don't really care about that, its a fresh change hehehe
