They need to be larger, and fade a lot better. With Sqirlz the puddles tend to disappear oddly, so it takes a bit of editing rather than just slapping them on and image saving (it's highly noticeable in that area when done this way) perhaps even extending the frame amount by 10 to give a smoother look. But play with it more and try to get an idea of how your rain is moving, then implement them.

Puddles do look better than it was previously. Nice idea on the spotlights but they should be sped up.

Yeah it looks better. Spotlights should be sped up like Diss said. Also, maybe it'd be cooler for the spotlights to start differently from the rain? It's odd that they start at the same time.

Other than that, a jet or some glowing lights on the train tracks would be cool.

Maybe a slight motion blur on the train, not too blurry though.

It could vary. You could make it fly differently than everything else, maybe have a cool design on it, like a newage mugen text or something like that. It could fly in front of the train, and you could have another that flies behind it at very random speeds/times/position/sin.y

Hmm...I think I'll leave it out for now. Since everything is in a similar art style, putting a plane sprite isn't suiting it, it looks kind of weird. I think I'll leave it out for now.

Just did the final test.

Only 2 things that bug me.

- The blue light we talked about earlier is still a tad bit large and can be cut down a few pixels, check red light for reference.

- Semi coloned lines not being used in mugen should just be removed along with the assigned sprites for less space/lag. Unless you're using them somehow.


Looks great, truly a wonderful stage. It's come a long way.

my mugen is running at 80 FPS, this could possibly be why...

Don't worry about sync, it's gonna mess up during matches anyways.

I've got this concept I've been working on. Here's a preview, plz keep in mind that its nowhere near done. I wont start working on the actual stage until the school year is finished. I got some big tests, exams, and projects due until approx. June 8.

The actual size of the stage is like 2400xsomething, but I had to reduce the size of the image b/c it was too big

I hate the sky in the WIP. Do you like it red-orangish, or should I do a green-yellow color scheme?

I was thinking of putting rays of light in that bit where Sol is sitting, like what Jean did in his Crysis Jungle stage.

The main coding, or the toughest part, would be a lot of unique, BGCtrl'd fire flies flying around the stage. I would do BGCtrl's instead of an animation and keep them in one place so that the stage would have more of a randomized and alive feeling.

Maybe I should put a forest in the background?

- I honestly like the current sky. Of course, it's your choice whether or not you'll change it though. (Maybe you can make it shift from red-orange to green-yellow?)

Good luck on dealing with the inevitable gradient loss that you're going to encounter.

I haven't made up my mind yet, I might do both depending on what I find as the background. Maybe even a transition like you suggested? I think Im going to cut the BG forest but keep the grass and then add a nice sky. After that, I'll make a orange version and see if it looks any better

I knew about the gradient loss I have some ideas of how I might fix that. I could defeat gradient loss.
