My only suggestion for him, and also all of your characters in general would be a charge mechanic and also when they do their super move charge, a fullscreen super background effect type thing like in marvel vs games and whatnot.
but those are minor things and overall your stuff rocks man

Thanks for the feedback. I used to also like the big FX backgrounds when characters do hyper attacks, but after years of being a stage creator I started to dislike stuff that covered up the stage. So that's why I don't use those type of effects in my characters unless it's an attack that sends them to the sky or moving at incredible speeds.

That's an interesting concept. Another creator funnily enough said something similar. They were editing Infinite style cvk characters so as to not show any super BGs at all for the same reason.
I guess it is a pure preference based thing. MVC fans perhaps prefer that "enter the vortex" type look during a hyper and super where as more traditional SF fans maybe donot.
I think the hyper effects we are most used to from Pots style characters definitely are a sweet spot.
They still allow for some flashiness and darkening with the right sound/effect combination without overriding the stage too much
