Seems no ones posted here for a while.

A'ight guys, I've fixed that annoying petals hanging around the top of the stage. Just some minor adjustments left with coding left.

Okay I've been jigsawing them and everything but their not indexed...
If I index the jigsawed photos, will they lose quality? Maybe I should just give em all to Mark when Im done

I made a jigsaw tutorial in the Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials section. Try following that for an effective way at jigsawing.

Are you sure that you want ME to jigsaw the pics? Don't you want to try it? It'll serve as practice to you mang, just saying.

Since the Big sprites are already indexed, all you need to do is to set the Image to RGB again. Make a separate Pink/Zero color sprite and cut out a box around 200px X 200 px in sixe and save it in indexed mode. Repeat process until it's all jigsawed. Always remember that once you add them in the sff, crop them so that the image size is reduced.

Also, do you want me to start making the other versions? The winter and night (I think it was night) versions.

Winter version aye? Someone tried making it but it was real shit. You can get started on that if you want to. I'll just jigsaw these when I get the chance and release the beta to them Newagers and Glb and blah blah blah.

That "other" stuff was to download a new copy of Photoshop. Adobe found out that my copy was pirated and decided to do the 30-day trial trick to me.

You should seriously get that Newage rank by now since you've supported Newage so much. Maybe once you release the stage, you'll get the rank.

But yeah, it looks like you jigsawed wrong my friend. Jigsawing's effective but tedious work because it involves missing not one single pixel. You have to focus on it real hard.

As far as tutorials go, I'd love to do more whenever I find something worth writing all that about.

Follow my tutorial using your original image.

You can RGB the jigsawed layers afterwards, but I don't usually. That's more something Markpachi and Jean do.

I suppose you're pointing out minor loss?

Perhaps you didn't cut the pieces small enough, or use dither on all of your layers which can be very helpful for removing excess loss as well.


In situations like this my friend, sometimes loss is just going to happen. As long as you eliminate it to the fullest extent it's okay, assuming that's what you're referring to in those screenshots.


Also, you have to make sure everything's in perfectly correct placement while you follow the tutorial, one small mistake can fuck everything up, and seeing this pink dots on the floor followed by trails above leads me to believe it was improperly indexed on all of the layers or some of the layers.

is it possible that Threshold Alpha could be the cause of this colorloss?

EDIT: I think I should just send it to GLB and see what he thinks. The main problem is actually the fact of how it lags like shit after Mark made that update. Even after jigsawing it like 12 times, the gameplay is still going at 60 FPS but the video aint...

Yeah. I assume it's because there's probably more than one RGB layer.

There's flaws there, when people like to RGB every sprite to ensure there's no color loss. Along with someone like ExShadow whom will even alias every sprite as well, while it infact makes the stage look really good, it can cause lag especially depending on how big they are (how computer intensive) it can cause a drop in FPS or lag around other programs. That's why I usually RGB the background solely and other parts if it's absolutely necessary.

Anyways, send it to me via pm and I'll test it and put feedback here.

On second thought I'm just gonna jigsaw the thing and remove the RGB's. I'll send it to you after I fix that. I had a long chat with Leo and Gen yesterday, they suggested the same thing
