It's not really a request but more of a discussion. Has anyone managed to find or come across a free AI Image Generator that is really worthwhile and can generate good examples of pixel art?
Personally, I have tried some free ones but the results are bad or very limited in their scale.

I can tell you that at the moment midjourney is probably the most popular one, but i have not yet found a good free AI that does everything i want, like transparency and stuff.
Having an AI that can do 8bit and pixel spriting will be a force to be reckoned with if we can make it generate sprite sheets!

Generating a sprite sheet would be a beautiful folly. But I thought of it more to generate "new isolated pieces" to later build something bigger.

I know Midjourney, I think it was free for a while but not anymore.

Beyond this, from what I read, a good alternative para Midjourney, at least to what I'm looking for (pixel art), is Leonardo AI. You have to request access to the trial version and due to its high demand it can take a few months. It offers image generation engines, one in particular specialized in pixel art or vintage aesthetics.
I'm on the waiting list to try it.

A guy called Videoman from MGF mentioned Stable Diffusion that I am testing these days. Not an AI generator engine, more of a pixelation tool. The final art is not pixel perfect but it is still interesting to try it.

Yes, that seems like a logical evolution to the use of these tools applied to fan and indie games. Not bad, fits and looks great. I hope can see more projects like this.

But my search and interest is still oriented to pixel art.

My main wonder is which is currently the best usable environment generator, and also how do you ask them to make a stage where there is a clear floor area for the player movement with no obstructions
