I have completed many hours work on the project to import the files and set up the system.def, and Logos, and other small technical things to make the system work together.
I have done several tests and I am happy to tell you that Part01 of the project is complete.
I have made a short video for you, to show you that the Astral Heat Logo system, and Astral Heat Main Menu screen and custom Font system, is now working inside your Legacy ADD004 system:



Also, I have made some other very small graphic updates for you, as a bonus feature, to thank you for the support of our work.
I have added your Username NK3s to the Main Menu screen.
Because you are now the new owner of this project, This new version will be called ""ASTRAL HEAT EX: Galaxy Dream Battle NK3s Special Edition".
I have also updated the Logo system, so your name, and original client name, is in the credits.

Also one other important thing, when you test it, please check your Mugen.scg file because i am using my settings for testing.
The Button settings maybe you will want to change to your favorite settings.

I have moved all of the unused files for ADD004 legacy into this folder called "Unused files".

I have also tidied up the data files, so it will be easier when we do the other future work.
Now, when you want to play your Mugen, you can click on the new EXE file instead of add004.bat
so it will feel like real PC game

I changed mugen.cfg and tested it on my pc.
Everything is working perfectly.
And thanks for the design update!

Thats is great to hear that you already tested it, and yes you are correct.
The next step is to import the lifebars system and make the modifications for the portraits as we discussed.
Tomorrow I will begin to import the lifebars syatem and modify add004 system for it to work.
I will update you here again when I have made progress on that.

Here is some updates on the progress of the Lifebar system and Portrait system Modifications for the ADD004.
I have competed the modifications for the Single Mode Lifebar.
It will now work perfectly 100% with the default Mugen Portraits.
It will use the Character spriteno 9000,0 like ADD004 settings.

Also, I made very small graphics modification to the Lifebar portrait area.
Now the portrait will be inside a portrait frame box so it looks more tidy.

I have also done the ADD004 modifications to integrate the system with the lifebars.
here is the test video of the Single mode lifebar.



There is still some more code corrections i need to do on the portrait box, but it will be complete soon.
Next, I will do the same modifications for Tag mode lifebars and portrait system, and Team mode lifebars.

Also you can see that the First attack Icon ADD004 system and score system I made some modifications so the positions is correct on the lifebar

NICE! Very well done.
I was a little apprehensive about this, but am glad to see that you were able to change to the default portrait while maintaining the style.
The first attack on the life bar is also cool.
The quality is better than I imagined.
Thank you so much.


But I have two points to discuss.

1.
The ADD004 messages (ex. "FIRST ATACK",""GREAT", "REVERSAL") that are displayed on the left and right side of the screen.
Can they be displayed larger?
It should be about the same scale as "x HIT COMBO".

2.
Could you make the "ENGAGE!" message shorter and more directly connected to the start of the battle?
Also, I personally prefer it without the "NOW" message.
(This is a difficult question to ask now, since it was originally intended for the original specs. I am so sorry.)

Yes correct.
The final version will be scaled to the default size of your original ADD004 settings. It is small now because of some scaling codes which will be updated in the final version.

We can definitely modify the Astral Heat animation sequence
to your requirements no problem.

To make these changes, I could recreate the original animation and remove the "NOW"
text, and recreate the original animation sequence with different timing settings.
Also I would adjust the time settings for each round to your specification.

However, because we did not include this in the original planning of part001, as per the commissions guide rules
it will require additional job part and time to make this modification and would have be an extra donation part of the project.
It would be approximately [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]/hr =36 to make these changes.
If you are still interested, we can add this to the project:

part 05 - Astral Heat Round Animation customization sequence.

Let me know your thoughts on this.

You are correct. The original version is made by 2 old retired member of newagemugen named SyN and ExShadow.
It is from a full game project that was never released to public.
If you are familiar with the history of newagemugen, the original name of newagemugen in 2005 is "club SyNdicate XTreme". This version of stage is not released.
It is 1280x720 version with MVC gameplay modifications.
I will add it to your Screenpack as bonus gift[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Oh, that's a lot of history.
I have seen many of Exshadow's work when I was collecting stages and am surprised he was a member back then.

Actually gave me some ideas for what I wanna do with BCR.

I seriously am not sure. I did attempt to contact him on several occasions but the last message i received was after sending him the menu screen updates. He mentioned he was really happy with the work but had some questions he would post on the website later that day. I messaged him a few times after but no reply. He disappeared after that, so hopefully he is ok and will return in the future.

Now for some progress updates.
1. Firstly, I have updated the ADD004 related resolution scaling settings.
As you can see, the ADD004 related combo messages now display as per the default settings in the 2840x2160p settings you use.

2. One minor change I have made, is make some code modifications to the score system and First attack system.
   I have moved them so that they fit correctly in both Single lifebar mode and Tag lifebar mode now.

3. I have tested and updated the Powerbar level Font system. It will support characters with power charge up to a powerlevel of 5000.
When we do the final tests, i will demonstrate this to show you it working because some very small number of character use more than 3000 Power

4. I have made the modifications and scaling/position updates to the portrait system on the Tag mode lifebars.
They will support the default portrait settings now no problem.

Next we will do the modifications for the Teams mode lifebars.

I also have some modifications I need to make on the Timer font system due to the scaling so that will also be completed.

Question. Will this screen pack eventually be available to other members?

If so, as GRAYFOX said, it might be better to leave "NOW" as an option.
I think it would be a waste because it is actually cool.

However, in my case, I prefer the battle message to be simple, short, and easy to understand the timing, so I have made this request.

I have a suggestion too - what you could do is change the name of this version to "NK3s LITE Edition" because it uses the default portraits instead of custom ones, and it doesnt have any victory screen with custom ports, and also the VS screen from what i'm reading is default too.

Then you can make another version (if someone wants to sponsor it of course lol) with all the extra custom stuff from creepys original planned version plus mugen hook on the select screen, then all the other bells whistles and eyecandy, and keep the original full length round 1 2 3 animations.
Thats my ideas lol

Thank you for the feedback GRAYFOX. I think that this modification will only be included in NK3S's personal version, since my feeling is that most player will want the full animation sequence. I don't intend on removing the original animation for the default Gold Saint Member version.

Correct. It will be added to our website as a Gold Saint Member download. I will keep the animation for the Gold Saint version as the original animation.
but for your version it will have the special shortened animation as we discussed for part 005 in the future.

Thanks for the feedback. Regarding the Portraits, I think that the original design plan that Creepytaranino had, which was going to inlude the Mugenhook animated portrait system, was going to be the best version.
Also the custom portrait system is the best visual option.
However, I understand that the average casual Mugen user that does not have access to image editing software or advanced graphic design knowledge may struggle with creating custom portraits. For this reason i think it is perhaps a good twist of fate that NK3s has requested default portraits.
This makes it more accessible to everyone.
I will however, only make the public goldsaint release version after a victory screen has been created, because I know that most Mugen users will want to have a complete Mugen with all menu screens enabled. So yes, potentially there will be multiple release versions, but the Original creepytarantino version is a lot of time and work to implement Mugenhook among other things so it will depend on what our other members want.

I have finally finished scaling and updating the Turns Mode Portrait system now.
Here is the footage of it



I have also made these updates
- Updated the position/scale of timer font
- small powerbar font update
- Small Training stage camera movement/z-offset update

all 4 lifebar modes should be fine now, and ADD004 is working completely with everything.
I will now re-upload this and that should be all of Part001 complete.

I have two points to discuss.

1.
Some of the stages are always displayed in 4:3 and the layout is broken.
I am not sure of the conditions, but it seems to occur more often in the old stages.

This also occurs on this stage.

I had changed the combo display ("X HIT COMBO") to layer "0" in the previous screen pack.
Because it's hard to see when it's covered by a character.
Is it possible to do the same?

Correct this is also possible.
If you are familiar with how to do this in previous screenpack, you can also do this again no problem and adjust to your preferred settings.

Thank you for your feedback.
As you may be aware, Astral Heat EX: Galaxy dream battle screenpack was designed as per creepytarantinos specifications for 1280x720 localcoord settings.
The client requested custom portraits with HD Resolution.
And support for 16:9 localcoord stages only as per default 1280x720 mugen.
1280x720 resolution is also called 16:9 resolution.
What this means, is by default, this 16:9 localcoord mugen is not designed to use stages with 4:3 resolution.
For example, the training stage I have added for you was originally designed only for 640x480 4:3 resolution.
I have made the modifications to it so it is now 16:9 resolution.
In conclusion, by default, this screenpack will only support stages designed for 16:9 resolution.
However, there are options for this.

It is possible to make small modifications to 4:3 stages you require so they will work in 16:9 resolution, however of course these would be additional work as it was not discussed/included in the original project.

Please let me know your thoughts on this.

I changed the res/~.def config changed and it was handled without any problems.

And, I tweaked @CONFIG-FIGHT-ANIMATION and the
fight-animation sequence more comfortably than expected.

So, I am really sorry for asking you to do this, but...
I would like to cancel the plan for Part 5.

There are plenty of dedicated 16:9 stages out there these days, and some high quality ones from newagemugen!
Therefore, no correction is necessary.

Hi NK3s,

You can still use 4:3 stages with a 1280x720 localcoord Mugen screenpack even if the stages don't support 16:9 localcoord.
However, this method is usually not recommended because it uses zooming to create the illusion that the stage is using the same localcoord.
The result will make the stage appear very large compared to the default setting.
This is controlled by the Mugen.cfg settings.
You would need to make these changes in mugen.cfg:

 ;0 - stage drawn to width of screen (may crop stages with tall aspect)
 ;1 - stage shrunk to fit into screen
 ;Ignored if RenderMode=System (forced to 0)

I think perhaps for your situation you would be satisfied with this method.
However usually it is not recommended, and using correct localcoord settings on stages, characters and screenpack is the best visual method.
But perhaps this will be an easy solution that will require less effort, and you can still use any4:3 stage this way
