I am redrawing all official lo res character artwork from various fighting game series in HD resolution via vectorization. One day when we have a full HD 1080p/2160p/4320p Mugen 1.1xxx with full color png support, these will be handy for select/vs portraits. Unfortunately, by then most old official fighting game art from our favorite games will either be forgotten, or never re-released in high resolution.
