So recently I've started what I would call my journey into Mugen. I started editing chars and leaning into coding chars and it made me wonder where people learned how to code them. So I'm Asking the community where did they learn to make the chars the way they want them. because thats what I want, im not necessarily looking to draw from 1 source but multiple and also giving them new combos and things

It is honestly too long for me to remember exactly.
Mostly from just years of trial, error, tutorials, accidental eureka moments and such.
Forums and youtube have always been the golden teachers for anything and everything mugen related and i dont think that will ever change.

honestly its been a minute and some change since i last labbed a character out but the way i used to learn bits and pieces was just reading how-tos across different sites.
does make me wonder though. Most of the best coded characters were all back in the day and everyone still reuses old code so there must have been something everyone new can learn from the old school ways

I've been looking at videos, and asking friends and others about how to edit normals, change hits, add effects and things of that nature. im making baby steps to doing what i envision for the chars im editing

This is Newagemugen my guy. We are never NOT working on somebody's games/chars/stages lol. Both public and private. its what we do. Since 2018 its been madness. COmmissions thread where some of the publicly visible works be goin down if u bored and wanna nosy at what be cookin. Shout out GRAYFOX/Swagga Kings/Lunalucard55/CancerManXIII/NK3s/Oxocube & anyone else I forgot lol

Message Boards I believe are the greatest source of information for Mugen creation hands down. This is where I have not only learnt the most but also shared the most information with others as I still actively try to do.
The questions and tutorials are always there to go back to with little effort
