Hey Guys,

Here's a tutorial I made for Quickfist, but I think others could benefit from it as well. I don't know if there are any other GIMP tutorials, but here's mine. Keep in mind that I've never used GIMP before today, so if there's a better way to do things, I'm all ears.

Nice to see a fellow Gimp user! (I know you said it was the first time, but still.)

The only things I could randomly suggest is instead of doing the crop selection like you did you could've easily used the crop tool, unless there was a reason for preference.

Also, for indexing you could just do image - mode - index, then color - map - rearrange color map. I find that to be a lot faster and simpler.

Lol, yeah I'm a n00b with it. XD

The reason for using crop selection was because it was the first thing I saw when fooling around before the video lol. I'll look into that tool though. Seems a little faster.)

One thing about the Rearrange Color Map that didn't make sense to me was why it was failing during my recording? I was able to use it just fine before then and I know that part is essential. It kind of ruins the video a bit, but I did what I could with it: You get to see my fail sped up with Benny Hill Theme in the background lol.

lol yeah, that part made me lol. I've never tried it with video myself so i didn't know it did that. It is known to be laggy at times though.

Gimp's indexing is far better than Photoshop's IMO. Photoshop screws it up sometimes for me.

Yep, that's what my voice sounds like... but it's random. Most of the time, it sounds like that video, only a little deeper. But sometimes it sounds really high pitched and other times, not so much. I don't know man. lol

Believe it or not, I've never had any problems with Photoshop's indexing tools. I've been using them since the beginning of my mugen "career."

No problem man.)
