Ah cool work dudio, great to see you improving! yeah the backgrounds are an important part of the video because it makes it pleasing to the eye and make audience watch longer. What you may need to do if you really want to get your background quality to improve, is make the videos alot slower and build the stage first and make it perfect, then do the fight animation last. another thing to look into, would be your camera movement. Sometimes rather than have the camera move super fast would be to have the camers move slower and pan slowly in and out, or left to right during the fights. kind of like a movie fight scene. It makes the animation seem more flowing if you get what i mean
Sometimes it happens - When we don't feel the magic in the creation. Not everything will always turn out good and how we want. The most important thing is the practice you get each time you make something and learn from mistakes and perfect the art. If you keep it up, you will succeed. If you follow the advice these guys have given you, you will get better and better.
One thing I will say, is about your text boxes - they seem kind of random and out of place and somewhat lack the artistic flair needed to really make the animation seem "professional" if you get what i mean.
The goal is to make the text box sequence seem like it is inside a real game, or part of the story sequence in the action game. An example would be to use sound, and have the box fade in, use colors and stylish clean text, and even the face of the characters inside the box too. Like this for example
Hey. Its been a long while. Sorry that I'm not as active here but school has preoccupied me. Regardless, I still had fun animating this on the side. Give me your thoughts. Im always looking to improve.
1. good sound 2. goos storyboard sequence 3. good original character choices 4. fight sequence is interesting and fast flowing which is good 5. good BGM choices 6. huge imporvement on your hit effects
1. the characters have no shadow 2. the camera movement is very choppy laggy not smooth 3. the background is only one flat picture with no perspective so the floor looks weird 4. the text boxes are far too large and weird color choices because u have dark writing over a colored box and the colors keep changing 5. alot of the other stuff mentioned to you above still exists here as issues
i suggest watch this one and see the smooth camera and quality backgrounds and video quality and try imitate this level and study it
I deleted the other post, as I didnt post it here initially... Anyways, this was originally going to be a shitpost, with, playing out exactly like the clip, but I thought that was cliché, so I did this instead. I hope you guys enjoy this instead. (Side note, there's a typo near the end with "305 subscribers" but I thought it was funny enough so I left it in.)
Hey guys. Its been a while since I last posted. I really want to be active but school has been getting in the way. Here's a little teaser for what's probably my most ambitious project yet. I'm not sure how long it will take to fully finish seeing as how I'm mainly doing it on my spare time.
I know its been a hot minute since I've posted here, but believe me I have not been slacking. There's going to be a collab posted around the end of the summer with other great sprite animators. Be sure to look out for it. In the meanwhile, since I finished my set, I might as well post something of a preview that's going to take up some of my time.
these look really cool. I can see that everyone has been giving you great feedback and you have improved based off it. I learned alot from the this comunity aswell in the past. Sadly i'm not as good at creating like these guys but I support the work It looks like we are all growing together
Yo its been a hot minute since I released a serious animation. This projects is something that went through many pitfalls. Read the description for more info but I decided to release it in probably two parts. After I finish something real quick, part two will be my main priority. As for the background criticism, here I decided to attempt to get a little better, even though I feel as if I got a little better, I still need to work on building off backgrounds. Hope you guys enjoy. Also check out Kirbo. He helped me export this flash file. If it wasn't for him, This project might have never seen the light of day. Extra note: I had to reupload it due to the quality of the video. I wanted it to be a bit better for the viewing experience.
Heres a new sprite animation for you guys. It was pretty fun to use these sprite sheets. I recommend checking Akuma Animations for Shizuka JoeStar and Gabriel Mouzo for Enzo. They are also both incredible sprite animators and this wouldn't have been possible without their sheets. I'm going to be semi inactive for a bit due to school, so here's my remake/overhaul of my first publicly posted animation I publicly posted. hard to believe its already been a year, and I'm satisfied at the rate I'm improving, but I still have a lot of work to get even better. Also thank you Oxocube. I didn't see the comment until a week ago, and it made my day.
