Well, while I am a tad away from Mugen and BOR, I continued to study 3D, something I really like.
I plan to use this skill on mugen/OpenBOR content soon.

Let me show some of the works:

Super cool, I can't wait to see how you implement it into mugen. I remember your stage with the animated blocks that had a 3D effect, a huge fan. So i know this'll be used effectively.

I have learnt C4D by myself, on my free time and reading ebooks, watchting tutorials.

Nothing too fancy, just making some tests with fractals, for a future work on Mugen with that.
95% done in Cinema 4D, just color corrections and minor stuff done on Photoshop.

Pretty.

Would you say C4D is tough to learn at first? Or even worthwhile for someone who wants to do bigger projects?

No, its very easy. its the most intuitive 3D program I ever touched. I've tried to learn 3D Max, Mayba and Blender, but no good.

What do you mean with "bigger projects"? Cinema4D is one of me most used program to make Visual FX, thanks to its power and easy learn curve. plus, it works pretty well with photoshop and After Effects.

There are many movies where Cinema4D were used, take a look. Some names are Chronicles of Narnia, Iron Man 3, Tron Legacy, Spiderman 3, CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS, etc:

There are tons of good tutorial channels in Youtube.

This is an example of the process:

Project details

Poligons: 640.000
Hairs (grass): 10.010.000
Render time: 2:45hs

I can see how the rocky sand is constructed but I don't understand how the grasses are added. Is there special function in tool you are using to add grasses?

Because I omit it from the editor view. It consumes A LOT of memory if yo let it on the editor view

This is how it looks:

Each white line is a hair strand. At the editor, you just see a white line, but each line have at least 16 segments.
So we are talking about 180.180.000 polygons, just for the grass.

I can control each hair, changing a lot of settings

Seems kinda intimidating at first glance but i'll try it out soon. By larger projects, i mean animation on the quality scale of that scene you made.
I wasn't aware there were movies made with it so i'll definitely give it a chance, but i'll probably give the other programs i had in mind a chance.
Thanks :D
