I've obviously never been much of a character guy, but i always thought having gameplay and a system idea were first steps.

I do have a general system down, but the more i use it, the more it feels like POTS style which im trying to deviate from since the mugen community is riding that style into the ground

I'd also rather get moves coded first then add system things like guard crush and the like, so i can see bugs and take care of them one after the other.

I'm going to remove the aura from Krimson, but have lightning strike down instead and create a certain effect on stages until the EX/MAX mode ends. Sound good?

I cant really find a video but essentially a dark particle field and the background will lose a lot of saturation. It's inspired and similar to this effect in Lightning Returns when you enter a Chaos infested.

I think it'll be nicer, but it'll cause me to do more work >.<

Technically not done(gonna make it flashier) but this will be one of his 3 level 3's (im kinda thinking 3 Lv1's, 3 Lv2's, 3 Lv3's) for my chars.

I did update the EX mode fx with the particle field but it doesnt work perfectly....

The placement just looks..off to me, I don't know exactly how. I think it's a bit over-exaggerated to though.

Because he's in front of the flame and also....on top of it. There's a secondary effect that i havent added that should make it look better but i'll prob just move Krimson so he aint on top of it

I'll get to that as soon as mugen lets me recolor the flames  Angry

I'm also playing around with an idea of something beyond an EX move but not quite a super yet.

I have an idea, make it fade from light pink, to crimson!! Or make the crimson one an EX type move, and the pinkish one a regular.
