STAGE COMPETITION 2013 ENTRY

I guess I'll enter the fray. Custom stage for K'. Custom concept, custom bgm, animation and superjump. I thank Markpachi and Alpyne for there feedback. Also Dan Mt. and Kungfu Man for their sprites. Enjoy.

Judging from the screenshots, the rain and buildings look displeasing. I'll give it a test, and it's likely not going to be a pretty one.

Alright here's the summary:
- The name seems pretty misleading.
- The perspective here is pretty mediocre here. Both the front buildings and floor are too zoomed in and too focused, why can't we see the buildings behind them and the sky? Try moving the floor and front buildings a bit more downward on y-axis and increase the deltas for the front buildings.


- Why is the boundhigh so low? It clearly cuts off the remaining top of the buildings Why not add more height on the sky and add the remaining blue to increase the boundhigh a bit more?
- Nice touch on adding parallax on the floor, however, the color clashes with the stage and kills the touch.
- You've got to do better on the rain sprite. The edges are jagged up everywhere.
- The building being green on the right should be the same color as the left building, if not, darker.

Some thoughts from me...

-I would darken the color of the floor or brighten up the BG so it doesn't clash as much
-Give squirlz a try for the rain sprites and possible some water puddle rings. I'm not sure what it'll look like on a low-res sprite stage though
-add a black overlay to the stage to give that dark atmosphere

Stage looks cool bro. I wish I knew how to make low-res stuff

Great feed back everyone. I'll attempt to apply what I've read. Except for Squirlz. Cuz  my stage is low res and the rain cuz  it fits. The name choice is nothing more than intentional sarcasm.

Oh and the floor. I believe that realistically, on building won't necessarily look like the next. Which is why I like to use different colors. But I see where you're coming from, Diss.

Update.

-Darken the floor and a few other sprites
-lowered all sprites

Change your
verticalfollow = .90
floortension = 60

Also change all of your clouds deltas on the X-axis to .1
You could also darken that white building on the far left side and that yellow-greenish building on the far right side.
