1HR Stage Excahm´s WIPs. on Fri Mar 29, 2013 3:09 am

Okay!
Finally got some random inspiration to work in a scratch stage.
Thx Markpachi.

- Under The Blue. -


-Contains.
-Parallaxed Floor almost ala Minecraft style D:
-Layered Tint.
-Sin.Y moving fog.

-Whats left?
-Add a plane flying around sometimes.
-Animate the Red lights over the buildings.
-Probably add some lights to the Tower.

-Issues.
-Massive colorloss on the "BG" even after the RGB Method so probably i will need to use the Jigsaw Method at the same time.
-The color from the "Rail" clash a lot due is way darker color so i will have to find one or make it BUT! if anyone have a "Rail" sprite that could fit there plz post it.
-Still messing with the floor deltas becuz this time iam using the parallax to flat the floor so a link to a writed tutorial could help.

That's probably the best WIP I've seen you work on. Too bad it's HD, not a lot of people use that resolution.

Jigsawing this would probably work best. Make sure you dither the cut layers as well, it's highly important considering there's blue in here. Mugen seems to fuss over blue.

Just make it the same color as the floor.

Oh I'm familiar with that background image. From the screenshot, I can tell that the rail lacks shadow placement on the floor. That's another good way for both the railing and floor not to clash.

Here's how I solve my gradient loss problem.

Step 1: Grayscale image.
Step 2: Index it.
Step 3: Set it back to RGB colors again.
Step 4: Recolor the image.
Step 5: Index it again.

Try fiddling with the one you currently have, it's practice for you.
Or you can use the Astray Noon stage's railings if you'd like.

The recoloring thing Mark does helps a lot when fixing colorloss, plus you should make a stage a bit darker imo.

Your making this into HD. Why not make it into a large stage that fits all resolutions?

and I would also separate the tower from the bg

Thats NOT an HD stage, is a regular Hi-Res stage
localcoorded at 850, 480 in a screenshot of 1280, 720 (Sreenpack resolution).
To play it on a regular Mugen just need to change a the localcoords to 640, 480 and change the bounds a little.

I havent move anything to the stage cuz i have been looking for some stuff to add.
I was going to add a plane but i think that a chopper of two would make more sence.
So i found a good looking one.

Just need to play around with is palette until it fit the stage colors.


@Watta.
For the Background color issues i plan to leave that for the end when i finish all other things such delta fixes, color clashes, ect.
Iam hoping that the method that Mark´s Sugestion for the BG colorloss works if no then i will jigsaw the image and yeah darker the image is a good idea but i will not separate anything from the BG becuz it have some kind of static fog and looks bad separed (reson that i added moving fog =P).

Yeah adding shadow is good but that should work well on a parallaxed floor?

Thats the tile iam using right now tho dunno if is a good idea to use it.

For now i only added a pair of red flashing lights at both edges of the roof since seems that all buildings have red lights on it.

It's still possible to add a shadow to your floor, It just may be a bit more difficult. It's not like you're animating it or anything. I'd assume your railing is the same delta as the floor itself, you'd just flip the railing onto the floor for the shadow.

Maybe you could use some BGCtrls to have a bunch of rain and puddles transitioning into the stage?

Yeah, just blend the shadow with the floor, flip the rail upside down, color it to black and lower the opacity. You're good to go from there.

Thx for the help guy but lost the stage...But still i have all the stuff i collected/fixed for it on my acount.

Meanwhyle all what i have on my head is to update my old stuff from the 1st one to the lastest....So...Iam posting this on my WIP thread instead of on releases.

Old stuff of mine that i posted when i joined Mugen Infantry.

-Thanks to Dragonlink1 for the Baba Sprite and ChronoStrife for the starry Sky.

After my Skull Valley stage these are the 2st ,3nd ,4th stage i did.....
But well i learned from own though that time by messing around with the code (Reason i basically suck or iam bad at it)
So wait i want is a lil of feeback or sugestions (not going to update soon probably cuz pc) ill take note and save it for later use like i did with the feeback and tricks that Genesis have give me (thx btw) so there you go.

If there is not much to fix graphicaly speaking i may can sooner.

Well seems that i will join the stage competition if Ex allow me.

Is not new just an Update.
I blame Gen for telling me how to add fade-out and small tip on Bgctrls to make an earthquake =P
Nothing impresive or complicated but is all i can do with dont using photoshop or gimp.

I could parallax it and flat it so the edges dont look like that.

Yo i was going to edit my previous post lol

And that works for??? I asked Exshadow about that and gived me a tuto but i though it was only for Hires and detailed stuff.

Ideas after watching a DBZ =P yeah SSJ Goku vs Freeza:

-Hide the Rocks on the BG and then after a few seconds emerge from the lava via BG ctrls.

-Play around more with the Shake BGctrls cuz the values looks kinda too random and probably add a diferent ID to the BG stuff and a diff one to the Floor..

-Parallax the floor and se if that hide a lil the sharpy borders.

-Probably add some kind of intro. like....All start with a layered black image and sudenly the layered flames starts fadein whyle the Black image fade out.

Thats all i can do for now but nothing graphicaly mostly only coding.

Well time to update my old sunset stage.
Here is the BG i gona use.



Gona add:
-Some birds animation (Same that i used which i used before more likely)
-Maybe a orange/yellow overlay.
-Some layered plants and maybe some on behind the floor sprite.
-Some kinda building like one of those japanese castles from SBX.
-A rocky floor that could fit with the BG (any idea?).

Sunset of Memories Update 2.


-New floor.
-Saturated the images a bit.
-Increased the sun intensity.
-layered woods.

Things to add:
-A waterfall on the lower corner right (near the cliff).
-The asshole crows :P
-Overlay of tint.
-Some plants maybe if i can fix the color.
-Add the cross again cuz looked nice.

- I don't like how the sun looks right now. Add some gradients to that sun, yo.

- Why is there lo light influenced by the sun on that bridge? It looks too dark.

- Same goes for that bush in front of the bridge, there's no light influenced by the sun.

- I liked it with the cross.
