I am preparing an aerial raid in the Jungle of Vietnam during the 60's.

Right now I have to work on parallax (first time for me) - I just took EXSHADOW's stage as a referencefor now for testing my new helicopter so the video IS NOT about the stage at all (which will be changed. It's just about the Helico.

That looks really cool.

It may just be me, but there's something weird about that rocket that shoots out. I think it's the smoke instantly traveling backwards and away from the direction it was shot out of. May just be personal preference.

Also, the white glow behind the train and below your trees looks a bit off, I can see black seeping into it as it moves.

Of course, I may have misread your post. Saying it won't be about any of that at all minus the heli, so disregard it if so.

The smoke is supposed to go backward first, this is what happens in real life. you can see it here for example.



The smoke for the rocket is a major problem I have not figured out exactly how to deal with it but it's really complicated because it has to follow the helicopter when firing and NOT follow the helicopter after being fired...

And indeed, nothing except the helicopter will be used in the final version, the stage is just for testing. It's just better than test on a black background I guess :)

UPDATE -

(ALL of this is still subject to major change, I'm still testing stuff around)



- helico color changed (green for jungle context)
- missile animations changed
- floor changed
- background changed (the background will most probably be changed as it look like shit)

What needs to be done:
- probably another helicopter
- figure out if players will be inside or outside (inside a cargo/helicopter or on the rooftop... :S )
- Add background animations and elements

EDIT : I just increased the sub transparency for better result for the missile visibility

This pleases me since the stage reminds me of CoD: Black Ops.
About the background, it looks good even now but here's a thought.
Instead of a Forest, maybe use a Mountainy forest and maybe add some flying debris such as Leaves and stuff ... Oh and the floor, how about adding some spraypaint insignias or numbers on the floor and on the heli.


This stage inspires me to do a similar stage, a warground thing.

Notes:
The FPS is still good but I can feel adding more stuff are slowly gonna decrease it which means I have less possibilities than what I need to make the full version I had in mind.

I have to select what to add and what to leave now, as I can't put everything. Too bad. not very surprising though.

Looking pretty sweet a lens flare would be nice, maybe some birds flying from the trees or having the trees on fire. Also, have a night version with rain and lighting or have a bridge in it. Will the first chopper blades have more frames for the turn. I really like this concept bro, try adding your ideal look and heck who knows maybe you can get bye with those extras effects. study

I agree with the possible tree fires, to give off that war-ish landscape better. Also, this may be personal preference but your foreground clashes with your background. I think a new foreground would be good.

It's not the first time you say one element of my stages (in this case, the floor) clashes with the rest of the stage although i usually I don't see much why.

What is the foreground issue in your opinion ? Nervous

It's weird perspective along with it's wonky color. Maybe, if it was darker, and you had some kind of layerno1 trees passing through, or even a rail of sorts it'd look less plain and better blending wise.

UPDATE

stage is pretty much ready.

- FLOOR UPDATED since everybody had complaints about it ;P (anybody who still feels like the floor should be updated can now go kiss my butt, this is the best floor i can give ;D ;D )

- Lens flare for the sun (in the end I did it...)

- Explosion

- Wind

- Tint has been corrected (barely noticeable but still important 8) )

I have one bad news : THIS WILL ONLY BE FOR MUGEN 1.0 and I can't be fucked making a winmugen Patch at the moment sorry :-X

Really loving the concept of the stage. I see all the improvements that you have made and it is looking pretty damn sweet. I'm not sure what else you could do to it.
