Well, I kinda wanted to use a "natural looking" lens flare but since I can't find any suitable candidates, I have no choice.

I'd like to first thank Genesis for sharing that lens flare sprite, I OWE YOU! + Your name goes to the forever permanent read me part of my .def

I tested it, it's very nice!

Some feedback:

Make sure you take the spaces out of your .def and .sff file replace them with underscores, or no spaces. So the stage can still be assigned to characters in mugen.

Also, please change the bgm to the name of the stage so it's neater and easier to find.

Some of your sprites are very large, (this isn't a huge deal) however large sprites can cause lag in mugen. Try to cut up, and tile or jigsaw next time. It'll save space and lag.

I know you mentioned smoke, maybe some layerno1 smoke/fog would fit.


Very fluent animations! I love the lens flare and the ship. The deltas are great.

What are your other plans?

I must've been really tired cause I clocked out early before replying*yawns*

ok I really do Like the stage,personally i'd make the plane move up and down a little faster

If so and you did mention other planes,having those soar thru the air and being shot down and explode would be awesome Twisted Evil

adding on to what GLB said,I'd recommend changing the song name to the stage name for a few reasons,main one is some peeps have OCD and like their mugen organized and having to look thru the def and whatnot makes a lot of work

Any suggestions? btw, i'm looking for "metal railings" sprites, anyone here have some and is willing to share it?

Try searching .pngs on google for what you need, or try DeviantArt for parts and recolor to fit your stage. I'll try and help when I can. Thumbs Up

Good, you caught the vision as well. It kinda reminds me of the military bases you would see in the old Rambo movies. Or Predator 1. Some sick jungle sprites would set this off! Glad I could help YOU for a change....lol!

Looking good mark! You should try adding a gradient in the black railing that sort of looks like the color railing back by those trees and bushes. Also try to remove that pink border from those pea leafs.

To add on to what Nero explained, your railing needs to be extended over 1, or 2 pixels to the right, since there's a short pink line still appearing and put it behind your foreground so it's no randomly placed. Also, the trees look poorly cut i can see leaves not attached to the tree above everything, they're just floating leaves. I can also see some short gradient mess on the floor. Your railing could use a recolor, since it's not blending at the moment.

Suggestions: To me this looks sort of like a battleground from a war, the guy hanging out of the window kind of brings that effect on even more. Perhaps more trees, bushes, leaves etc (more vegetation) perhaps a short fog layer with a dim alpha behind your floor, have that light on the building animated. Also, maybe you could render out that destroyed brick wall (assuming that's what it is to the far left.) Then flip it, and place it on the right also. Some airplanes/choppers would be cool. Then perhaps a large layer of rocks behind everything on a separate delta (more realistic) then maybe you could add a dim and somewhat desecrated looking lake area animated water of course, on broken land. Obviously you don't have to add this, just ideas and brainstorming.

More trees = OK
Fog = OK
Render Brick Wall = Done!
Add it to the right = OK
Chopper = Looking for sprites
BG Rock layerings = DEFINITELY!
Animated water = I'm thinking how i'll be pulling it off and how i'll be adding it to the stage

Gradient mess was the wrong choice of words, maybe I could use "needs cleaning" instead. If you look closely at the floor you can see random pixels of different color. Perhaps this can be fixed by simply recoloring the floor.
