The 3rd one, without any people. Glowing sign, flickering lights, the pole layerno1, maybe some proper use of dog barking or bottle breaks etc in a bgm. IMO.

I voted for the first one and I would be happy to help you. (for any stage)

* tip 1: to blend the robot feet with the ground, use a brush that darkens the image, and simply darken the area around and including the feets of the robot.

* tip 2: You can clerly see that the ambiance is "dark green" so don't forget to apply a dark green tint on the characters as i explained in the corresponding topic
http://www.newagemugen.com/t1398-stage-trick-enhance-the-ambiance-with-the-right-tint

PM for any help.

Very nice background - This stage could potentially look as good or even look better than My city ruin stage if you manage to use it at it's best potential.

It's all good bro. The more time you spend learning the better. There's no rush! Just do your best.

The first time I did Ruin City it took me like 3 days and a half and I had custom anims (hand made by drawing myself...)

I was still a beginner (intermediate let's say..)

You can do these stages faster than you think if you don't procrastinate.

I find those a lot too.

The way I clean them, is I set the mode back to RGB, pick a new color that will stand out more, like lime green, and I used the paint bucket and fill in the green over the pink.

You'll find that outline is there still, however. I usually go through with the paint bucket and rectangle select tool and clean them out manually.

I usually use gimp to remove the pink out line. I open gimp up and i turn off the antialiasing then i make a pink background layer then i open the image cut out what i want and when you index the image it cuts off the extra faded colors around the edges.

Is this the original sprite ?

because the person who cleaned this did a fucking disgusting job. It's blurry so i doubt this is the original

DON'T use smoothing functions or antiliasing or any shit like that, the hardness and sharpness of the eraser must be 100% when you clean something.

Even someone like Exshadow (or even me now) use the very basic microsoft paint tool to clean sprite...

Lol you can use MS paint to clean your sprites i would have never known or tried.

@ Markpachi what you could do is make some type of roof above the chars and have like acid rain fall and when i falls you can maybe cut some parts of the mech and the roof of like its melting and have smoke coming from the melting parts. just a thought!

Feel free to go through any of my stages and use what you'd like, just message me what it is before hand so I can make sure it's one of mine and not something MOTVN let me exclusively use or EXshadow did.

Yes, Ayumi did.

No offense, Ayumi. But don't use that, he made it in his beginner days. As is most of my rain, but it doesn't have that weird static effect.

yeah thanks to Nero you have PI3 now.

don't forget to install all the emitters until the most recent one (november 2011) if you can.

it's pretty simple to use just get quick tutorial on youtube. You can easily make tons of badass anim.

Have fun - By the way the update of Damned city looks great.
